Fort Meade, MD - In Processing

Military personnel report to their individual Commands/Units and Sponsor for each branch-specific orientation. Each branch of military has their own reporting in and after hours procedures; please let your Command and Sponsor know when you are arriving and where you are staying. Fort Meade is a large post and bus transportation is very limited on post. Incoming personnel will need a vehicle to get around on post. There are no car rental agencies on Fort Meade, but many car rentals agencies are available at the Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).

For Army personnel, if you do not already have a Sponsor assigned to you before arriving to Fort Meade, you will be assigned a Sponsor when you report to your individual unit. Your unit will schedule you for the Army "Start Right" (a 2 day inprocessing program). Day 1 of Start Right is medical and financial in processing. All Army personnel should bring their 201 file, any receipts for the finance office and their dental records. Army spouses are encouraged to attend Day 2 of Start Right. Free Childcare is available by calling CYSS Parent Central Registration Services at 301-677-1149/1156 but you must be registered with the CYSS.

Be sure and bring all your medical and dental records as well as any personnel records along with several copies of your orders. In-processing at Fort Meade is done in uniform, so bring enough uniforms to last for several days. All newly arrived soldiers will participate in the two-day Fort Meade Start Right Program which will orient the soldier to the post. The program begins at 0830 in Building 2234 on Huber Avenue.
